Eversheds Sutherland (Belgium) has advised SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. on its sale of SNC-Lavalin SA, its Belgian subsidiary engaged in the business of project management, engineering, public procurement and construction management services in the fertilizer industry.
SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. is a TSX-listed and fully integrated professional services and project management company with offices around the world, providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to various industries, including mining and metallurgy, oil and gas, environment and water, infrastructure, and clean power.
The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by corporate partner Benjamin Haberkorn and senior associate Evy Verhaeghe.
CMS DeBacker advised the buying entity De Smet Engineers & Contractors (DSEC).
DSEC has an established reputation as an agro-industrial integrator, specialising in the agro-industrial fields such as sugar, edible oil, biofuels, biochemicals and niche fertilizers. With the acquisition of SNC-Lavalin SA (renamed into De Smet Agro SA), DSEC is reinforcing its position in providing the world with sustainable technologies.
