Eversheds Romania together with the Romanian Embassy in London, the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Chelgate Romania hosted on February 3, 2016, at the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Doing Business in Romania event

The event was attended by Romanian high officials and by the representatives of business community from Romania and UK, and provided an unique opportunity to the participants to discover the range of opportunities that Romania offers for UK companies, both in terms of business and investment, and how best to utilise them.

The speakers included: Mr. Claudiu Vrinceanu, Romanian Secretary of State for the Economy, Mr. Viorel Ciocoiu, Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Matteo Patrone, Director, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Mr. Cristian Lina, Managing Partner, Eversheds Romania. All speakers described the current business environment in Romania as demonstrating more predictability, growth, the intense fight against corruption, etc.

Eversheds Romania was represented at the event by both Managing Partners (Cristian Lina – speaker, and Mihai Guia) and Raluca Nechimis (Managing Associate).  As speaker, Cristian Lina outlines the regulatory frameworks in Romania that are considered of interest by the potential investors and provided information on the formalities and costs related to setting up a company in Romania, VAT registration particularities, certain employment related requirements, property restitution claims, etc.

The conference had a good networking component; the participants shared ideas, common interests and discussed about business opportunities.
