Financial services and competition issues

null

Who should attend

In-house lawyers from financial institutions.

Synopsis

The financial services sector has recently become the focus of intense competition law interest, with the Financial Conduct Authority’s existing competition objective being further strengthened by the grant of concurrent competition law powers from April 2015. At the same time, a new standalone Payment Systems Regulator with additional regulatory and concurrent competition law powers will be fully operational by April 2015.

In light of this, we are holding an early evening seminar to explore this developing area. Our competition team will be joined by experts speakers from the FCA, the PSR and Lloyds Banking Group to discuss:

  • the main changes to the UK competition and regulatory regime in the financial services sector;
  • the current priorities for the FCA and the PSR;
  • an assessment of future developments; and
  • implications for the financial institutions sector.

The presentations will be followed by an opportunity for debate and questions, then networking over drinks.
