Wearable technology – combining fashion and technology. What possibilities and challenges does this mean for business? How does legislation challenge and support such business?

The Finnish Fashion Law Association and Eversheds (Finland) / Heinonen & Co arrange an event with the theme Wearable/s tech in De/sign on Wednesday 9 September 2015 at 17:00–20.30. The event is for invited guests and is a part of the Helsinki Design Week festival.

In the event, companies in the field tell about their operation and future prospects while experts shed light on related legal issues. Marketing Director Anu Kivelä from Medanta talks about new textile innovations in health care, and challenges of virtual reality in retail trade are discussed by CEO Niklas Slotte from Sayduck. In addition, CEOs Janne Pylväs of Myontec and Tomi Ojala of Runteq describe the legal challenges of processing personal data. The theme will be introduced by chair Heidi Härkönen from the Finnish Fashion Law Association and Attorney at Law Hanna-Maija Elo from Eversheds. A more detailed programme is available on Helsinki Design Week’s website: OHJELMA

The event looks at the subject from diverse angles – from a business perspective and through discussing the subject matter from new, topical points of view.

This event is part of Helsinki Design Week.
The largest Nordic design festival Helsinki Design Week is held 3–13 September 2015.
