Seminar | Reform of the French anti-bribery system and so-called Bill Sapin II

3rd of May – Eversheds Paris LLP | 8 Place d’Iéna, 75016 Paris | 18:00 – 19:30 followed by networking drinks

In response to constant criticisms by international organisations, France could not remain without reacting to the record sentences imposed on French companies abroad. The French bill known as “Sapin II” is intended to reform and substantially reinforce the French body of legislation about combating corruption.

The bill notably institutes an Agency known as the “Agence Nationale de Prévention et de Détection de la Corruption” (agency for preventing and detecting corruption), which shall have real powers of investigation and sanction, and an obligation to prevent the risks of corruption.

Cercle Montesquieu and law firm Eversheds Paris LLP would like to invite you, alongside renowned experts, to discuss the issues of this reform on combating corruption, as well as the impact of the reform for companies based in France.

Speakers

• Nicola Bonucci, Legal Director, OCDE,

• Catherine Pierce, Vice-President, Transparency International France,

• Alexandre Gallois, Professor, Université de Rouen,

• Claire Olive Associate General Counsel France Oracle, Cercle Montesquieu,

• Sophie Scemla, Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Management Group, Eversheds Paris LLP
