Rachel is responsible for driving service excellence through well-designed, tech-enabled, legal service delivery.

She is Eversheds Sutherland’s first Service Excellence Partner, with responsibility for client service excellence across its international practice. 

The role of Service Excellence Partner is one that focuses on providing clients with an integrated service-led approach to the delivery of legal services, focused on bringing up-to-date, modern best practice to drive service excellence. 

She leads the firm's Service Excellence strategy, bringing together business professionals that include legal technologists, legal project managers, business analysts, change managers and service design managers — all of whom work alongside our legal teams to provide an integrated service to our clients. Rachel is head of the Service Excellence Solutions team, which encompasses legal service design and legal technology solutions.

Rachel has long combined front-line transactional M&A work with a passion for innovative client service solutions, often with a technology angle. Before becoming Service Excellence Partner, she was a partner in our M&A team delivering global deals for major clients, with a particular focus on financial services and technology.

Rachel has been instrumental in developing Eversheds Sutherland’s client technology and service excellence offerings, including:

  • Dealmaster, the firm’s flagship, award-winning M&A project management tool
  • the firm’s cross-practice AI group, which drives the application of AI in the delivery of legal services
  • establishing the legal project management team for the corporate and commercial practice group
  • the deployment of electronic signatures in the firm’s corporate team, being one of the first UK law firms to do so, resulting in the firm being recognized in the Financial Times Innovative Lawyer Awards 2017

With a strong track record in cross-border M&A transactions and forging major client relationships, Rachel continues to fulfill the role of Client Partner or Deputy Client Partner for the firm’s key clients.

Rachel is a member of the City of London Lawtech Sounding Board, which supports the development and adoption of technology into practice and provides a forum for discuission between the legal and technology communities. Its aim is to foster a better understanding of common issues and encourage development of solutions-based products and processes that will evolve legal service delivery.
