Andrew is a corporate, commercial and finance partner, focus primarily on private equity, venture capital, banking and finance transactions.
A corporate, commercial and finance partner within Corporate and Commercial department, Andrew is also the head of the Corporate and Commercial department in Durban. He specialises primarily in private equity, venture capital, banking and finance transactions. Whether acting for the purchaser or seller, Andrew can advise on structuring and all required agreements, documents, and procedures to complete any transaction. He also has considerable experience in black economic empowerment transactions and general corporate and commercial law matters.
Andrew has been a dedicated lawyer in the commercial space since being admitted as an attorney in 2008 and has been a commercial and corporate partner since 2019. During his career, Andrew has also served as a general counsel in the corporate space and uses this experience to focus and shape his advice to fit within the everyday framework of his client’s business and understands the importance of establishing long-term relationships.
Andrew also has general experience in corporate governance, trust law and pension and provident funds and has served as both a principal officer and company secretary.
In his spare time, he enjoys travel, collecting wine and running. He is passionate about education and mentoring.

- Advising City Logistics and Clearwater Capital in their acquisition of the Fastway Couriers franchise in South Africa, which comprises Fastway Couriers’ National Master, Fastway Johannesburg, and the Fastpost business.
- Advising iSON Xperiences, together with its shareholders, in respect of its acquisition of a majority shareholding of Credit Solutions Services Group.
- Advising OneCart Proprietary Limited with regard to Massmart’s acquisition of a controlling stake of 87.5% of the company.
- Advising iSON Xperiences Proprietary Limited on its acquisition of the Altron Group’s Business Process Outsourcing and CX Enabling Technology divisions.
- Advising RCL FOODS Limited on the formation of the Livekindly Collective Africa, a joint venture based in South Africa between RCL FOODS and US-based The Livekindly Company Inc. The joint venture involves the marketing, sale and distribution of plant-based alternative food products in South Africa and the rest of sub-Saharan Africa.
- Advising the City Logistics Group in the sale of its Riverhorse Valley facility in KwaZulu-Natal to Boxwood Property Fund for R450 million.
- Advising Vector Logistics Proprietary Limited, the Logistics Division of RCL FOODS, on the acquisition of the cold chain business of Imperial Logistics, South Africa.
- Advising the International Facilities Services (IFS) Group, domiciled in various African jurisdictions, together with its shareholders, with regard to a USD35 million investment by Development Partners International, through its African Development Partners II fund.
- Advising Grindrod Bank Limited in various term loan funding transactions (of approximately R400 million in the last 18 months), preference share funding transactions (of approximately R120 million in the last 12 months) and general security reorganisations.
- Advising Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Limited on the South African aspects of the EUR1.26 billion equivalent syndicated loan facilities.
- Advising the lenders on the South African aspects of a dual tranche syndicated facility to RMB International (Mauritius) Ltd (2022).
- Advising the lenders on the South African aspects of a dual tranche syndicated facility to RMB International (Mauritius) Ltd (2023).
- Advising City Logistics Group and Clearwater Capital in their financing arrangements in respect of the acquisition of the South African Fastway Master Franchise and the Fastway Johannesburg Franchise.
- Advising RCL FOODS on refinancing the Group's existing debt facilities of approximately R2 billion, including senior debt and working capital facilities.
