Miriam van Ee started her career with NautaDutilh in May 1998 and joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2008 as a partner in the corporate and M&A practice. She co-heads the Dutch Energy Group.

Miriam is specialised in M&A, financing, restructuring, securities, corporate, contract and energy law. She has broad experience and in depth knowledge of domestic and cross border mergers, acquisitions, de-mergers, joint ventures, shareholders agreements, (acquisition) structuring, restructuring, commercial (energy) agreements and (project/acquisition) financing.
Miriam has developed a large national and international practice in a variety of sectors, with a special focus on the Energy & Utilities sector. Miriam has worked on a great number of major complex transactions, amongst others in the food & beverages, ICT and cyber security, industrial engineering and the clean energy sector.
In addition to the aforementioned transaction expertise, Miriam is specialised in structuring of energy projects through the planning and construction phase, commissioning, operation and maintenance with respect to a variety of technologies such as wind, solar, biomass and heat projects. She has also in depth experience in local energy production and integration of energy solution in buildings.
Miriam is admitted to practice law in the Netherlands and speaks fluent Dutch and English. She holds degrees from Utrecht University in notarial law and civil law (cum laude) and spent two years (2002 and 2003) working in the Corporate and Finance practice in London.

Recent experience includes advising:
- a Dutch solar developer on the development, divestment and acquisition of several large portfolios of ground based solar PV farms in the Netherlands
- a waste management and waste to energy company on the potential acquisition of waste to energy company in the Netherlands
- an investor on an acquisition of a 50% interest in the Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm in the Netherlands (752 MW)
- a joint venture on the development and energy regulatory implementation of a private grid
- a consortium of investors with regard to the acquisition of the largest floating solar installation in Europe
- an international solar project developer regarding planning and zoning issues for floating solar projects in Dutch municipality
- on an acquisition from a Dutch utility of a wind farm in the Netherlands by a Belgian fund. Extensive negotiations on the PPA and Balancing Services Agreement, which were extraordinarily complex
- a solar developer in the divestment of a portfolio of ground mounted solar projects
- a developer on the planning and environmental aspects of realization of the biogas plant, including negotiations with the Waterboard and municipal authorities
- a fund based in North Holland in the funding of a largescale heat grid, for distribution of heat from different sources, including residual heat
- a UK wind developer in a complex Dutch wind project. In parallel exploring the possibility for a direct sleeved corporate PPA with one or more corporates
- a fund with the participation of a new investor for an indirect stake in the 900 MW Borkum Riffgrund 3 Offshore Windfarm
