Emily is an immigration, employment and global mobility lawyer working as a Principal Associate at Eversheds Sutherland in the Employment, Labor and Pensions group. 

Emily specializes in employment and immigration advice. Emily has over 15 years of experience advising clients. Emily trained at Clifford Chance before joining Eversheds Sutherland. She also has significant experience as a client having worked as an in-house employment lawyer at Boots before re-joining Eversheds Sutherland. 

Emily advises on contentious and non-contentious employment work, from advising on reorganizations and redundancies, complex senior employee severances, and assisting with disciplinary and grievance matters.

Emily is also a leading member of our National Immigration Group and provides immigration advice working closely with clients seeking to manage an international workforce. Due to her dual qualified employment and immigration experience she advised clients on immigration issues as well as advising on the risk and procedural issues arising from an employment law perspective. 

Emily regularly assists clients with sponsor licence applications and skilled worker visas from visa eligibility assessment to sponsor pack compliance and assistance with applications. Emily is also a Level 1 user and regularly provides training and guidance on sponsor obligation compliance. Emily also assist with mock interview and audits in preparation for Home Office audits as well as regularly advising on right to work issues.

Emily has acted on numerous matters for clients, most notably in recent months:

- Assisting in the delvery of an international helpline covering over 72 jurisdictions worldwide;

- representing a client in a series of linked Employment Tribunal claims including a complex multi-discrimination claim and resolution through judicial mediation;

- advising a major restaurant brand chain in auditing and reviewing their right to work checks and document retention processes in compliance with UKVI requirements, drafting a suite of policies and delivering bespoke training on compliane with sponsor obligations;

- assisting clients with the implications of the changes to UKVI right to work requirements and delivering training and support to internal teams;

- assisting a major retail sector client on senior severance arrangements and negotiating and agreement of severance terms;

-advising clients with a global workforce on the implications post Brext on travel in and around Europe and more frequently regarding remote working arrangements with assistance of local counsel.

Emily has provided training at client and public events in relation to employment and immigration on numerous occassions over the course of her career. Emily delivers training on Eversheds Sutherland public training courses and has co-hosted podcasts for Eversheds Sutherland dealing with topical immigration issues.
