Joos Hellert is a Partner and Head of the German practice group Litigation and Dispute Management. He is a litigator with over 18 years of experience. His practice focuses on state court and international arbitration proceedings.
Joos represents clients in the industrial and service sectors with a special expertise in distribution and franchise law. He also advises national and international clients on compliance matters.
Prior to his appointment as partner in 2010, Joos headed the legal department of Burger King's Central European Division for four years. In this function, he was in particular in charge of the expansion into the Eastern European markets, such as Russia.

- a German industrial and trading company in various court proceedings concerning antitrust violations including cartel damages
- an industrial company in a number of court proceedings concerning industrial espionage
- a US franchisor in court proceedings regarding claims resulting from franchise agreements
- a high-tech manufacturer in a cross-border arbitration (ICC) on long-term supply obligations
- a US industrial company in arbitration proceedings (ICC) on claims for damages arising from a project cooperation agreement for the Middle East
- a US industrial company in an arbitration (ICC) on warranty claims in connection with the construction of various industrial plants
- a US industrial company in a post-M&A arbitration (DIS) concerning the acquisition of a German subsidiary
- an international industrial company in arbitration (SCC) concerning claims based on government sanctions
