Lisa is a Principal Associate in the Intellectual Property team at Eversheds Sutherland and advises clients on all aspects of IP law and brand management.
Lisa provides strategic and practical analysis and advice to clients across all sectors to help them establish, protect, exploit and enforce their IP portfolios in key markets.
Lisa negotiates and drafts all types of commercial IP agreements including licenses, assignments, R&D agreements, NDAs and other commercialization or collaboration agreements, to maximise value from IP portfolios. She handles IP aspects of complex and high-value corporate transactions, from due diligence/IP analysis through advising on risk mitigation to drafting transaction documents.
Lisa advises clients in relation to marketing and promotional strategies, including in relation to advertising and competitions, with recent experience advising on filming agreements (including for a Hollywood franchise blockbuster), influencer agreements, high-profile advertising campaigns, comparative advertising risks and dispute resolution, and various promotion and competition terms and conditions.
Lisa has significant experience in IP and commercial dispute resolution and has advised on numerous disputes with international and cross-border elements. She has experience in all stages of dispute resolution, from initial pre-action advice to trials, as well as settlement and ADR (including domain name complaints and Company Names Tribunal complaints).
Lisa's recent experience includes:
- drafting R&D and commercialisation templates and bespoke project-specific agreements for clients in the pharma, utilities and energy sectors
- risk analysis advice in relation to high profile advisertising campaigns across a variety of media and preparing practical mitigation tools and internal processes to mitigate clients' risk in this area
- acting on multi-jurisdictional High Court litigation for well-known retail sector clients regarding trade mark and design infringement claims
- IP audit advice involving analysing clients’ IP portfolios and recommending and implementing measures to address risks identified in relation to IP protection, ownership and licensing, including in relation to intra-group IP arrangements
- negotiating and drafting brand licences, sponsorship agreements and agreements with social media influencers
