Carl is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Claims team dealing with personal injury, property and utility asset damage claims. Carl leads the Motor Claims team and the Claims Authentication team.
Carl has over 24 years' experience dealing with personal injury claims, property damage claims and utility asset damage claims initially with insurers before joining Eversheds Sutherland in 2007. Whether it is assisting clients pre-litigation or with litigation, Carl assists a variety of clients including large self-insured corporates from a variety of sectors, insurers, utility companies and local authorities.
With a particular interest in defending cases involving fundamental dishonesty, Carl leads the Claims Authentication team and can assist you in defending claims involving staged and induced collisions, phantom passengers, low-velocity impact cases and cases of exaggeration.
Carl has worked with utility companies to assist them in dealing with multiple injury and property claims from major incidents such as explosions. In addition, he has also assisted utility companies in recovering their losses as a result of asset damage by third parties.
Carl also leads the Motor Claims team who can assist you with all motor-related claims from minor knocks through to collisions resulting in catastrophic injuries.
In his spare time, Carl still likes to play football when his legs allow and he follows Ipswich Town FC despite the pain it causes.

Carl's recent experience includes:
- successfully assisting a utility company to secure settlement via mediation for £167,000 on a claim pleaded at £1.7 million
- assisting a utility company with claims following a large explosion that resulted in scores of injuries and hundreds of damaged properties
- successfully repudiating an induced claim that involved a cloned stolen vehicle within days of instruction resulting in the stolen vehicle being recovered and savings in excess of £50,000
- investigating a fraud ring involving taxi drivers staging accidents resulting in claims being discontinued and achieving saving for our insurer client in excess of £100,000
