Sarah is a Partner in our Financial Services Disputes & Investigations (FSDI) team.
She also heads our Litigation team in the East Midlands. Sarah helps retail banks and other financial institutions to manage disputes and litigation risk.
With a background in commercial litigation, Sarah has spent the past 15 years helping retail banks and other financial institutions to manage their disputes and litigation risk.
Whether a claim is being brought by or against your business, or in prospect, Sarah can advise you on a cost-efficient and effective strategy for dealing with the issue, drawing upon her first-hand experience of the challenges facing those within the financial services industry.
Sarah's practice has focused on managing significant portfolios of claims for several years, successfully marshaling large cross-office teams to implement and deliver complex litigation strategies. Her clients include the UK's leading retail banks and credit providers.
She is a member of common interest privilege groups which focus on key areas of industry concern (PPI, APP fraud).
She is also well-versed in regulatory issues affecting the payments industry and regularly contributes to client briefings on this topic.
Over the years, Sarah has delivered numerous training sessions to both in-house teams and lay clients and has spoken at various industry events.
Sarah has acted on a wide range of contentious and regulatory matters, including:
- managing a large portfolio of litigation and contentious work for a retail bank covering all manner of disputes from PPI to cryptocurrency fraud to motor finance disputes
- managing two separate portfolios of professional negligence claims on behalf of a retail bank and successfully generating significant recoveries
- advising a lender on a £20m liability arising out of a portfolio of over 2,500 Section 75 CCA claims and devising a complaint handling process for the individual management of those claims
- working as part of a large cross-office team on a major regulatory investigation, specifically handling a section 166 review for a leading bank and presenting our findings to the FCA
