Sarah assists clients in navigating disputes, and situations where disputes may arise, as well as advising once Court proceedings have commenced.
Sarah is a Senior Associate in our Litigation and Dispute Management group based in our Manchester office.
She has experience in a broad range of commercial disputes including breach of contract claims, breaches of restrictive covenants, shareholder disputes and warranty claims. Sarah has assisted clients in obtaining injunctive relief (including under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997), relief via Part 8 as well as Part 7 proceedings and in managing a large number of claims issued concurrently.
As well as dealing with Court proceedings on behalf of clients, Sarah is frequently instructed in an advisory capacity by clients wishing to understand their rights and/or potential risks under contracts, seeking to exit unfavourable agreements or requiring a strategy to deal with the actions, or omissions, of a counterparty.
Sarah's recent experience includes:
- advising an airline and a clothing company in respect of claims brought under the Commercial Agents Regulations
- acting for an overseas client in respect of a shareholder dispute
- advising a charity in respect of a breach of warranty claim
- being instructed as the lead associate on one of The Lawyer's “Top 20 Cases of 2021”; the SFO's defence of a claim alleging inducement of breach of contract and misfeasance, which culminated in a three-month trial in the Commercial Court.
