Kirsty is a Senior Paralegal in the Planning and Infrastructure Consenting team based in the Leeds office. Her particular strengths lie within the project management of hearings and inquiries, as well as Section 288 High Court challenges.

Kirsty's responsibilities fall within:

  • project management tasks in relation to appeal and inquiry preparation
  • drafting, negotiating and settling planning conditions and Statements of Common Ground
  • managing additional environmental information submissions on behalf of clients
  • liaison with planning authorities, PINS/DPEA and third parties
  • assisting with the preparation of planning obligations

Kirsty has recently assisted on a range of schemes for clients including Vattenfall Wind Power Limited, Peel Holdings, RES Limited, Banks Mining, EDF Energy Renewables and Infinergy Limited. Some examples include:

  • Vattenfall Wind Power Limited - South Kyle Wind Farm: public inquiry for s36 scheme comprising 50 wind turbines and associated infrastructure with the generation capacity of up to 170MW straddling Dumfries and Galloway and East Ayrshire;
  • Peel Holdings - Scout Moor Wind Farm Expansion: public inquiry for 16 wind turbines and associated infrastructure split between Rossendale and Rochdale planning authority boundaries and the subject of call-in by the SoS
  • Banks Mining - Highthorn Surface Mine: public inquiry for extraction of 3 million tonnes of coal over a 7 year period in Northumberland and the subject of call-in by the SoS
  • EDF Energy Renewables - Fallago Rig Wind Farm: conjoined public inquiry for s36 scheme comprising an extension of 12 turbines to the existing 48 turbine wind farm together with a s36C application to extend the operational life of the existing wind farm with a generation capacity of up to 185.4MW in the Scottish Borders
