Daniel is a Legal Director who assists clients in effectively managing financial services disputes and disputes relating to pension schemes.
A Legal Director in Eversheds Sutherland's Financial Services Dispute and Investigations group, Daniel is also part of the firm's Pensions Disputes team.
A large part of Daniel's role involves advising financial institutions on a broad spectrum of litigation and complaints handling work, as well as assisting with internal investigations and advising on regulatory issues.
Having spent a year on secondment with the litigation team of a major UK bank, Daniel understands the importance of efficiently and effectively managing dispute risk.
Daniel has acted in a number of high-profile cases in the pensions sector, including cases heard in the Court of Appeal and the European Court of Justice.
In addition, Daniel regularly provides training to clients and other professionals.
Daniel's experience includes:
- managing a portfolio comprising all claims valued at up to £250,000 brought against a leading bank
- advising a major banking client on its strategic handling of authorised push payment fraud disputes
- advising the trustee of a pension scheme in high-value equalization proceedings referred by the Court of Appeal to the Court of Justice of the European Union
- advising the trustee of a pension scheme in the first substantive hearing of the Pensions Regulator's anti-avoidance powers before the Upper Tribunal
- advising a leading bank on a significant internal investigation and remediation exercise
- handling complex, high-value professional negligence claims for financial institutions and trustees of pensions schemes
