Julia is a Partner in the Financial Services Disputes and Investigations team in London.

She specializes in contentious financial services regulatory matters as well as undertaking complex internal investigations (often cross-border) and advising on the risks arising from these.

Before joining the firm, Julia spent nine years at the Financial Services Authority (now the Financial Conduct Authority) in both the Enforcement Division and the General Counsel's Division. She has considerable experience from both her time at the regulator and in private practice. In 2014/2015, Julia spent 14 months on secondment to HSBC's Global Internal Investigations team advising on the bank's most significant investigations.

Currently, Julia represents both firms and individuals under investigation by the FCA. Her experience includes taking a leading role in regulatory investigations into firms and individuals for misconduct, including representing several senior executives of large financial institutions in retail and wholesale businesses (under both the old and new SMR regimes).

She also has experience in investigations into mis-selling, market abuse, financial crime systems and controls, failing to cooperate with the regulator, and complaints handling.

Julia has also taken a leading role in FCA Skilled Persons Reviews as part of Eversheds Sutherland's role on the FCA's and PRA's skilled person (s.166) panel.
