Alison is a Partner in our Litigation and Dispute Management group.
Acting for an extensive roster of multinational corporate occupiers, investors and developers across the public and private sector, Alison has over 25 years of experience advising on all aspects of property-related problems.
Alison also has particular experience in advising on reputationally sensitive disputes. She has acted for a number of multinational companies, particularly in the energy and retail sectors, in actions to protect their operations and corporate reputations from disruption by protestor and campaigner groups.
Alison leads the delivery of litigation and dispute management services to the education sector. She is also a public law specialist, regularly advising on judicial review challenges and regulatory investigations.
Alison's recent experience includes:
- acting as lead advisor to Network Rail on the contentious property aspects of the £1.4bn disposal of its commercial property range of complex and strategic property issues
- acting for two global corporates in defending group actions arising from claims by local residents alleging noise and odor nuisance
- acting for various fracking companies on action to protect their operations from disruption from anti-fracking campaigners including obtaining an injunction on behalf of Cuadrilla to prevent high profile protests at its Bowland sites
- acting for other global corporates on highly sensitive corporate protest campaigns arising from industrial action scenarios
- acting for various public bodies and educational institutions in the successful defense of judicial review proceedings and regulatory investigations
- advising a university on its response to an OIA investigation concerning course provision changes and the risk management of consequent breach of contract claims
- advising on a threatened judicial review concerning equality, diversity and inclusion and statutory obligations in respect of free speech
- advising on highly sensitive investigations into compliance with relevant Regulation and Regulator Guidance and challenges to OfS decision making around OfS registration
