Mark is a Partner in our Employment group advising on all aspects of Employment Law and is particularly experienced in Employment Litigation.

Mark advises businesses from all sectors to help them minimise their legal, practical and commercial risk from an employment law perspective.  He provides advice to clients regarding contentious and non-contentious matters, including complex employment disputes, senior exits, restructuring situations and variations to terms and conditions of employment.  

Mark has considerable experience of Employment Tribunal litigation and also conducts his own advocacy, successfully defending significant cases throughout England, Scotland and Wales (including discrimination claims, whistleblowing claims and claims involving multiple claimants and respondents).

Mark’s recent client experience includes:

  • defending an appeal to the Employment Appeal Tribunal in the widely reported case of Patel v Specsavers Optical Group (EAT)
  • providing extensive support to a leading retailer throughout the last 18 months, working closely with them to try and manage the impact of the CV-19 pandemic and assisting with the restructuring of the business
  • defending an employment status challenge for a leading retailer that would have had extremely significant implications for its business
  • Ranked as a Next Generation Partner in Legal 500, where he is described as "an expert in employment tribunal work"
  • Ranked as 'Up and Coming' in Chambers
  • Identified as a Rising Star and Future Leader in Nottingham Post
