Stefanie's practice is focused on structuring private funds and advising major institutional investors on their investment into such funds. 

Stefanie is a partner in the Financial Services department in our London office. 

Stefanie has a particular focus on unauthorized funds and joint ventures, advising on onshore and offshore fund structures, underlying portfolio vehicles, holding entities, acquisitions and disposals of wrapped assets, fund extensions and other restructurings. 

Stefanie also advise public and private institutional investors, such as pension schemes, insurers and local authorities, on their investment in a range of onshore and offshore funds in all asset classes, including credit, infrastructure, renewables, hedge, real estate and private equity. She negotiates fund documentation and side letters in respect of such investments. She advises on investment management agreements, custody agreements and related documentation and negotiates these on behalf of her clients. 

Stefanie's practice has a specific focus on Germany. She is a native German speaker and regularly coordinates cross-jurisdictional matters from London. 

Stefanie's recent experience includes:

  • Advised a major UK manager on the establishment and marketing of a new private equity style real estate closed-ended opportunistic fund
  • Advising a major UK manager on the structure and establishment of their Luxebourg open-ended pan-European real estate fund, targeting European pension funds
  • Advising a major UK manager on the structure and establishment of their £200 million closed-ended special situations fund structured in Jersey and the UK
  • Advising a major UK manager on structuring its private debt, inflation plus and renewable energy funds
  • Advising seed investors on their investments into a range of private funds structured in a number of different jurisdictions including the UK, Luxembourg, Ireland, Jersey, Cayman and Delaware and across all asset classes

Over her career, Stefanie has presented numerous times at various public and client conferences and events. Recent topics include:

  • UK ESG update for Asset Managers
  • Real estate funds and fund structures

In 2022, Stefanie published the firm's inaugural private funds trends report "FundsTrack: trends in the private funds space."

Stefanie regularly publishes briefings and articles, including for Funds Europe on the new AIFMD marketing rules. 

Stefanie is listed in Legal500 as a “Rising Star” for Investment Fund Formation and Management and is a named individual for Real Estate Funds.

Stefanie is a member of the Association of Real Estate Funds.
