Rebecca is a Principal Associate in our global Privacy and Cybersecurity practice.

Rebecca is experienced in the wide range of data privacy issues arising under EU and UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and ePrivacy laws, including the adoption of new technologies and novel data processing, and the interplay with emerging AI regulation; large scale multi-jurisdictional outsourcings and corporate transactions; data sharing; data exports and direct marketing compliance.

Rebecca has a particular focus on her specialist sectors of Life Sciences, TMT and Financial Services, and has a keen interest in Fintech. She understands the challenges clients face operating in these highly regulated sectors and the need to be alive to competing regulatory pressures.  

In the Life Sciences sector, Rebecca has a great deal of experience working with clinical trial sponsors who she has advised on issues such as which data protection regime applies to parties, sharing research data via SaaS platforms, controller and joint controller analysis, the lawfulness of secondary research activities (including when using pooled pseudonymised data), content of Patient Information and Consent Forms, and data hosting and localisation expectations.

She is experienced in supporting clients in respect of data issues and related risk assessment and mitigation in relation to proposed corporate M&A and funding transactions affecting sector targets, including supporting clients with due diligence, gap analysis reporting and assessment and recommendations and resultant compliance strategies.

Rebecca also frequently presents and delivers training seminars for our clients.


Rebecca's recent experience includes:

  • coordinating multi-jurisdictional data protection compliance projects to facilitate the implementation of a global HRIS and whistleblowing hotline
  • preparing and updating internal and external facing privacy policies and procedures for large multinational corporations
  • drafting and agreeing data transfer and data sharing processing agreements for large multinational corporations
Rebecca has presented many times at various public and client conferences and events.
Rebecca is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and has been CIPP/E certified since October 2015.
