Darragh is a banking partner specialising in property and development finance, acquisition finance, syndicated lending, project finance and structured finance.

Darragh is a Partner in our Banking & Finance Department. He advises both lenders and borrowers on a full range of secured and unsecured finance transactions including bilateral and syndicated loans, security, intercreditor and hedging packages. Darragh is also experienced in property finance, development finance, acquisition finance, cash-flow lending, PRS schemes, hotels, SME lending and syndicated lending.

Darragh has considerable recent experience in development finance transactions and has acted for lenders and borrowers on several major recent construction projects. 

He previously worked in the Banking & Financial Services department of a top-five law firm in Dublin and previously qualified as a chartered accountant, having trained with KPMG in Dublin.

Darragh's recent client experience includes:

  • Advising Pembroke Beach DAC, a joint venture involving Ronan Group, Oaktree and NAMA, in connection with the acquisition and financing of the 37 acre Glass Bottle Dite in Dublin 4
  • Advising sole arranger and lender in connection with the provision of 350,000,000 euros revolving credit facility
  • Advising JP Morgan in connection with the refinancing by Endo PLC and subsidiaries of its existing term loan facility with a combination of new 6.125% Senior Secured Notes and a new term loans
  • Advising Deutsche Bank as collateral agent and RCF lender in conection with the examinership of Mallinckrodt PLC
  • Advising First Step Homes (Ireland) Limited in connection with the refinancing of a portfolio of 172 residential properties which were all let to Local Authorities on 25 year standard leases
  • Advising Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. in connection with the construction of a 25.65 MW windfarm in Co. Clare in the excess of €40 million and subsequent 8.55 MW extension.
  • Advising a portfolio of windfarms in connection with the provisions of development finance by ING Bank to assist in the construction of three windfarms totalling 19.4 MW.
  • Advising Focused Investment Property ICAV in connection with the acquisition of 229 residential units at Shackleton Park and Gandon Park, Lucan comprising of 36 houses and 193 apartments.

Darragh regularly speaks at conferences and seminars.  He has presented to financial institutions and at conferences in Dublin on topics such as intercreditor and priorities agreements, consumer credit, real estate finance, development finance, acquisition finance and loan sales, financial assistance and common borrower negotiations points.  He has also lectured and tutored at the Law Society and has presented to the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.
