Kate is a Senior Associate in the Commercial Dispute Resolution team in the firm's London office.
Her practice consists predominantly of litigious disputes, but she also works on arbitration-based disputes and advisory projects.
Since qualifying, key projects Kate has worked on include:
- Barclay Pharmaceuticals Limited v Mekni: a high-value multi-jurisdictional fraud dispute in which multiple applications have been made for Worldwide Freezing Orders (between England, Hong Kong, France and Switzerland, with further assets in existence all over the world), disclosure and the appointment of receivers over particular entities
- Agents' Mutual Limited v Moginie James Limited/Gascoigne Halman Limited (GH): a high-profile dispute split between the High Court and the Competition Appeal Tribunal (the CAT). Kate and the team successfully defended all claims of anti-competitive behavior in the property portal market in the CAT on behalf of their client; a decision that is now being appealed by GH in the Court of Appeal. The remaining claim for breach of contract is due to be continued in the High Court. This case led to the firm being named Competition Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2018 and being "Highly Commended" as Competition Team of the Year at the LegalWeek Awards 2017
- AXIO Data Group Holdings Limited v UBMG Limited: a high-value dispute relating to the breach of an accounting warranty contained in an SPA. This matter ran to trial in the Chancery Division of the High Court where a significant settlement was reached in our client's favor before judgment being handed down
- Team award: Firm named Competition Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2018
- Team award: Firm named Highly Commended as Competition Team of the Year at the LegalWeek Awards 2017
