Gareth specialises in advising institutional clients and private investors and developers on all commercial real estate matters. Gareth’s extensive experience includes large commercial office and retail leases both for the landlord and tenant, the acquisition and disposal of development lands (including site assembly), setting up and disposing of mixed residential/office/retail development schemes, and property co-ownerships and joint ventures.

Gareth’s recent experience includes:

  • The acquisition, development and funding of five private care homes across Northern Ireland;
  • Advising a private developer on the acquisition and development of a £25m student housing scheme in Belfast;
  • Advising a plc on the funding and construction of a major on-shore windfarm regarding landing sites and connection routes;
  • Advising Volkswagen Financial Services on the property aspects of their commercial lending across the UK;
  • Lead advisor to RBS and Deloitte on the sale of two significant shopping centres in Londonderry;
  • Lead advisor on the purchase of two landmark shopping centre assets, one in Londonderry and the other in Belfast;
  • Advising a number of national retailers on their new leases, lease renewal and routine asset management items associated with their stores in Northern Ireland; and
  • Advising an institutional lender on the property aspects of their agri-food loan scheme across Northern Ireland.
