UEMOA – The first credit bureaus (BICs) are being established in the member States of the UEMOA

The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) recently entrusted Créditinfo VoLo, a joint-venture established in Senegal and Gambia and set up by Créditinfo Group and VoLo Africa, with the establishing of the first credit bureaus (“BIC”) in the member States of the West African Monetary Union (UEMOA), i.e. Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo. The first BICs should be operational in June 2015.

The New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (“Convention”) entered into force on 3 February 2015 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, following the ratification of Law n°13/023 dated 26 June 2013, in application of Article 215 of the Constitution.

Gabon – Law n°007/2014 on the protection of the environment in the Republic of Gabon

The Republic of Gabon has adopted the Law n°007/2014 on the protection of the environment in the Republic of Gabon (“Environment Law”). The Environment Law, which repealed the law n°016/93 dated 26 August 1993, was promulgated on 1st August 2014.

Côte d’Ivoire – Creation of the Indice de confiance judiciaire
