Egypt – Approval of the new bill on investments

On March 2015, the Council of Ministers of Egypt approved the draft of the new investment code. Several reforms to the previous investments regime are brought. Notably, the new Code will implement a “one-stop-shop” to facilitate administrative procedures for investors and avoid administrative delays.

En mars 2015, le Conseil des ministres égyptien a approuvé le projet du nouveau code des investissements. De nombreuses modifications au régime des investissements sont effectuées. Le nouveau code va ainsi mettre en place un système de guichet unique pour faciliter les démarches des investisseurs et éviter les lenteurs administratives.

Tunisia – Adoption of the renewable energy law

The Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP) adopted on the 15th of April 2015, during a plenary meeting, the bill No 74/2013 regarding electricity production from renewable sources (projet de loi n°74/2013 relatif à la production de l'électricité à partir des énergies renouvelables).

Article 3: Morocco - New opportunities for investments of companies based in Morocco

In Morocco, measures aiming to make Casa Finance City (CFC) a financial continental platform are progressing. After the announcement by the African Development Bank (AfDB) of the setting up of Africa 50 investment fund in CFC, the Moroccan Office of Exchange (MOE) published a circular aiming to liberalise foreign investments (especially intra-African investments) of companies based in Morocco, including those with the CFC status.
