Statutory adjudication is being introduced by various states around the globe in order to create a level playing field for employers, contractors and sub-contractors in the construction and engineering, oil and gas and infrastructure industries. This article examines, compares and contrasts the impact of the payment and adjudication regimes which have been introduced in the UK, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, Germany and Ireland since the UK Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.
