We are happy to introduce our second edition of Elevate – our Quarterly Construction Newsletter. 

Elevate provides an update from our UK Construction and Engineering team. We hope you enjoy reading and welcome any feedback that you many have. 

Amongst other important issues, this edition looks at:

  • the proposals under the Building Safety Bill to extend liability beyond SPVs; 
  • the impact the Building Safety Bill is having on the PI insurance market (prepared in conjunction with Gallaghers)
  • a recent Court of Appeal decision where an adjudicator was entitled to payment even though no decision was provided
  • our thoughts on two new standard form contracts: NEC4 Facilities Management Contract 2021 and the FIDIC Green Book 2021.
