We are delighted to announce that our partner Boris Martor has been ranked fifth in Jeune Afrique magazine's naming of the 50 most influential lawyers in Africa. For the rankings, the magazine identified more than 1,300 cases and transactions from 350 lawyers to decide the top 50 business lawyers. A number of the transactions for which Boris gained this recognition, are in the renewable energy sector.

The team is active on all renewable energy technologies and projects across Africa including solar, onshore wind, hydro, geothermal and biomass. We are wholly committed to the region.

Boris commented: “I am delighted to see Eversheds Sutherland recognised as a leading law firm in Africa; Africa is a continent with high potential for renewable energy growth and we have a great team which is able to deliver innovative solutions to what can be quite complex projects”.

Michelle T Davies, International Head of Clean Energy and Sustainability, also commented: “It is a fantastic achievement for Boris to be named in the top 5 lawyers for Africa and we are immensely proud. The team is working hard to bring our global learnings and experience to the benefit of our clients developing projects in Africa. We remain excited about, and committed to, the region and will continue to do all we can to help our clients find new solutions to overcome some of the challenges they face.”
