The French Government has announced that 6 calls for tender for onshore wind will be launched between 2017 and 2020 for a total of 3GW. In the first call for tender, a total of 500MW will be awarded to various project holders. Please note that the deadline to submit proposals for this is 2pm CET on 1 December.

The call for tender is open to projects which already have an environmental permit and which feature either at least 7 wind turbines or one or more turbines with a capacity greater than 3MW. The only selection criteria is the price, capped at 74.8 €/MWh.

Successful bidders will benefit from the feed in bonus support scheme which provides a premium to the market price and is payable by EDF. The power purchase agreement is for 20 years.

The Eversheds Sutherland team is available if you have any questions and to help you during the tender process and throughout all stages of your project.
