In 2018, for the third year running, World Bank’s Doing Business report named Brunei Darussalam the most improved economy in the world in terms of ease of doing business. Overall the Sultanate was ranked 11th in Asia Pacific, ahead of both China and India.
Eversheds Sutherland (“ES”) is the only international law firm with an office in Brunei headed by partner Neilia Tan. Our Brunei office has a very strong local reputation and has worked on a number of major projects in Brunei relating to, inter alia, port developments, the formation of new special economic investment zones and the construction of related infrastructure, and the development of a new stock exchange. We also have a strong local banking and finance practice. |
