The Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Jordan Valley Authority has released a project announcement: Red Sea - Dead Sea Water Project (Phase 1).

"The Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Jordan Valley Authority hereby modifies the final date to purchase the Pre-qualification document to Prequalify companies and consortia of investors and developers for the development of the Red Sea - Dead Sea Water Project (Phase 1) on a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis, from the original date of 30th January 2016 to be open for purchase by interested bidders at any time prior to the final submission date of the PQ proposals on 30th March 2016 as announced in the PQ document without any change to the final submission date.

This addendum forms a part and modifies the original PQ Documents for: Prequalification of companies and consortia of investor and developers for the development of "The Red Sea - Dead Sea Water Project (Phase 1)" on a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis."

This is an important development in the $800 million project that will supply water to both Israel and Jordan, as well as increase the flow of water into the Dead Sea, which has been suffering a severe depletion.
