Eversheds Sutherland (International) has been named ‘Legal Practice of the Year’ at the Northern Lights Awards, Manchester.

The awards are designed to highlight collaboration between companies and within companies in the Northern Powerhouse geographical area.

Eversheds Sutherland (International) received the award in acknowledgment of its collaboration across the Northern Powerhouse and its efforts to help rebalance the economy.

Michael Clavell-Bate, Senior Office Partner at Eversheds Sutherland (International) Manchester, said: "This is a wonderful acknowledgment of our ongoing commitment to both the region and the Northern Powerhouse. We are very pleased and look forward to building on this success.”

Eversheds Sutherland (International) has helped shape the region over the years, having advised on a number of significant projects, including: Airport City Manchester, MediaCity, Mayfield, regeneration in Sunderland and most recently working on the upgrade to Network Rail’s Trans-Pennine route between Leeds and Manchester.

The firm has also been working closely with the British Business Bank setting up the newly launched £400m Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund. The fund is aimed at boosting the North of England’s economy and helping the region’s businesses realise their growth potential.
