COVID-19 is creating a fast-changing and uncertain landscape. Many prospective tenants will be undertaking fit out works under their agreements for lease. Our webinar held on 31st March highlighted some important practical steps that could be taken now to maximise a tenant's control over construction projects and ensure that tenants are as well-positioned as possible to deal with delays, increased costs, supply chain issues, site closures, claims or disputes. We also discussed key issues raised by COVID-19 which should be considered in respect of any base build works being undertaken by landlords, their obligations to tenants for such works and the consequences of delayed completion.
