17-05-2022
On 15 May 2021, Starling Trust published its fifth annual Compendium (“Compendium”) on “Culture & Conduct Risk in the Banking Sector”. The Compendium is a prestigious publication, which provides a series of brief articles on culture and conduct risk issues from leading global thought leaders from major global banks, regulators and academics.
The contributors to this year’s Compendium included contributions from senior executives at leading regulatory organisations (e.g., New York Federal Reserve, Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, OECD, Basel Committee), senior executives at global organisations (e.g. Merrill Lynch, NatWest, Société Générale, ABN AMRO, Goldman Sachs) and academics (from e.g. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge).
We are delighted that Ciaran Walker, Consultant, has contributed an article for the Compendium. Ciaran’s article is entitled “Accountability regimes: Will they succeed in changing behaviour and culture in banking?” and follows-on from his recent co-authored book, “New accountability in financial services: Changing individual behaviour and culture” (2022).
The full Compendium, including Ciaran’s article, is available for download here.
Ciaran’s experience (and that of colleagues in our Ireland and UK offices) advising clients in this area along his significant research and publications in this area, means that we are ideally placed to assist clients prepare effectively for the imminent new individual accountability regime in Ireland (including the Senior Executive Accountability regime, “SEAR”).
