Governments and infrastructure lawyers
Our global Governments and Infrastructure group advises on major projects that sustain economic growth. We have vast experience working closely with government bodies, major multinational corporates and infrastructure funds on some of the largest, transformational infrastructure projects across the globe.
Our integrated, cross-border team advises on all aspects of a project lifecycle from project inception, feasibility, financing and procurement through to the development phase, completion/financial close and beyond. We bring dedicated infrastructure sector and legal excellence to each component part of the project, while utilizing a 'whole firm' approach to work jointly and provide greater consistency in service delivery.
Our governments and infrastructure law experience
We advise a number of stakeholders in the infrastructure market including:
- government ministries and agencies including numerous central government departments and agencies in the UK together with the governments of Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Tunisia and the UAE, alongside local/municipal authorities in many jurisdictions
- development finance institutions and multilaterals such as the International Finance Corporation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the East African Development Bank and China Development Bank.
- private project developer companies on their bids for publicly procured projects internationally, as well as project financing and/or refinancing of their infrastructure assets
- state-backed infrastructure developers, particularly Chinese SOEs outbound investment, in relation to procurement of projects and JVs with private investors, as well as project development in domestic and international markets
- funders, banks, alternative lenders and Export Credit Agencies (ECAs)
We work very closely with technical and financial intermediaries on projects and are always looking for new developments and investment opportunities in the UK and internationally to take to our clients.
