Our Life Sciences team has extensive sector experience and understands the issues your organization faces every day. We regularly advise clients on a wide range of global issues, including regulatory and market access; clinical trials and R&D; mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestments; IP (contentious and non-contentious, licensing); AI and data protection; dispute resolution; employment issues and restructuring.

We have over 100 lawyers in our global Life Sciences team, many of whom have advanced technical degrees and experience as research scientists and working in-house for life sciences companies.

We provide full service, global legal support for the Life Sciences sector and act for a range of Life Sciences organizations, including big pharma corporations, investors, researchers biotech and medtech companies.  We operate on a cross-border basis for both development stage companies facing regulatory issues for the first time, as well as fully integrated multinationals.

  • INEOS on the production and supply of millions of bottles of hand sanitiser, in response to the Covid-19 crisis
  • Otsuka on a ground-breaking collaboration with a number of world-leading collaborators, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, to accelerate the development of novel TB treatment regimens Edwards Lifesciences in connection with agency, distribution, consignment, equipment, HCO and HCP and other commercial agreements
  • Roche on the successful defence of a significant claim alleging parallel importing
  • MSD España on a claim for infringement of the Losartan patent, achieving in first instance a damages award of €20m, which represents the largest pharmaceutical patent infringement award in Spanish Judicial history
  • AstraZeneca on the use of Artificial Intelligence in drug discovery
  • UK Biocentre in its defence of procurement proceedings brought by Liconic AG relating to the procurement of stores for biological samples
