Transport
Eversheds Sutherland’s global transport practices have extensive experience in this complex and evolving sector. Our in-depth legal knowledge is complemented by an intimate practical understanding of the industry, including its latest developments, biggest projects and key players around the world.
Our lawyers are on hand to help you to deliver complex transport infrastructure projects and systems. We assist in the timely, cost-effective resolution of disputes and regularly advise governments, major contractors and developers on complex, sophisticated infrastructure, maintenance and renewal projects in a wide variety of jurisdictions. Whatever your needs, we can help you to achieve your goals.
Experienced transport lawyers
Eversheds Sutherland’s transport experience ranges from the construction of new rail routes to the implementation of managed highways, bridge and tunnel projects, the building of new runways and the development of ports and airports. Our interdisciplinary team of attorneys assist in disputes regarding environmental issues, cost overruns and delays, latent construction defects and bid protests against public owners, engineers, contractors and joint-venture partners. Our contracting and dispute resolution services often benefit from collaboration with highly regarded public relations and public policy professionals.
Rail experience
Our rail infrastructure experience covers light rail and tram, underground and overland routes. We have been involved in many of the largest rail sector procurements, including alliancing contracts for the procurement of all rail infrastructures. Our single-system approach to rail infrastructure projects includes upgrading stations, track, signaling and power in close conjunction with rolling stock. We also handle significant disputes that arise from rail/tram projects.
Roads and bridges
We act for clients across the spectrum of the road transport sector, from highways authorities and DBFO contractors to joint ventures and other specialty contractors. We also advise national governments on new road investment and private-public partnership concession schemes. These include the Government of Bangladesh on the Dhaka bypass project.
Ports and airports
We advise on major infrastructure port projects, including redevelopments, distribution centers and related transport infrastructure. Our experience includes acting on major disputes for port operators. Our recent projects have also involved significant offshore work, including the engineering of breakwaters.
Public-private partnerships (PPP)
Public-private partnerships enable governments to build and maintain some of the most exciting and essential construction projects in the world. Eversheds Sutherland’s lawyers believe that these projects are not only important for our clients but that they help to create an impressive, affordable and sustainable built environment for everyone. Our team provides innovative, government-oriented project delivery solutions to construction, infrastructure, and energy clients seeking to connect private construction and financing to public needs.
