Eversheds Sutherland has welcomed two new partners, José Pascual and Viviane de Moreau, who will be based in its Luxembourg office.
Both partners joined the office this week, with an initial focus on investment funds and corporate clients. Eversheds Sutherland plans to broaden its offering in Luxembourg to include tax and finance practices.
José and Viviane join Legal Director Alexandre Huebscher, Counsel Holger Holle, Senior Associate Arnaud Julien and three Associates, who have been with the Luxembourg office since its launch last year.
José specialises in investment funds formation work, advising domestic and foreign clients on matters relating to the structuring, setting-up and organisation of all types of investment funds, with a special focus on alternative investment funds. He also advises on corporate, transactional and regulatory issues relating to investment funds and asset managers. On joining José becomes Managing Partner of the Luxembourg office, succeeding Ronald Paterson who established the office.
Viviane advises an international range of clients (including service providers and fund managers) on all investment funds related matters, including the corporate and regulatory aspects of the structuring, creation and distribution of funds.
Ronald Paterson, commented:
“Both José and Viviane bring a wealth of experience in investment funds including funds formation work and the corporate, transactional and regulatory aspects of funds which will drive the initial focus of the Luxembourg office. I look forward to working with them to increase the bench depth and strength of the Luxembourg offering.”
José Pascual, commented:
“I am delighted to be joining Eversheds Sutherland given the recent investment and expansion in Europe and beyond. The opportunity to help to build an office in a new jurisdiction was too good to miss and I am excited to get started.”
Viviane de Moreau, commented:
“Eversheds Sutherland has a brilliant reputation for its client base and high quality work. This is a great opportunity to build on the firm’s existing knowledge and expertise and establish a successful presence in the Luxembourg market.”
The arrivals of José and Viviane bring the total number of partner hires this year for Eversheds Sutherland (International) to three following the arrival of corporate partner Sébastien Pontillo in the Paris office.
