Advising on HK$2bn RMBS securitisation programme
- Hong Kong
05-05-2021
Eversheds Sutherland advises on a HK$2bn RMBS securitisation programme.
Eversheds Sutherland’s structured finance team in Hong Kong has advised a leading Hong Kong money lender, in its capacity as originator, transaction administrator, servicer and junior investor, on a successful HK$2bn residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) securitisation programme.
The mortgages are secured on a portfolio of Hong Kong residential properties. The securitisation, which successfully closed on 9 April 2021, is governed by Hong Kong law.
Kingsley Ong, Partner and Head of Structured Finance & Restructuring/Insolvency, Asia, at Eversheds Sutherland comments:
As an asset class, Hong Kong residential property mortgage loans remains one of the most resilient even in times of crisis. This securitisation programme will give our client additional liquidity and enable it to grow its existing portfolio of mortgages.”
The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by Partner Kingsley Ong, supported by Of Counsel Simon Barrell, Associates Polly Chiu and Hinny Leung.
