  • Poland

    11-09-2008

On 30 August 2008 the Minister of Infrastructure and Autostrada Wielkopolska S.A. signed a contract for construction and use of the second section of the A2 Expressway.

Wierzbowski Eversheds represented the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) in negotiating the contract. The contract was concluded for a period ending in 2037, for a 106 km section of the toll road between Świecko – at the German border on the Oder River across from Frankfurt (Oder) – and Nowy Tomyśl (near Poznań). Work will begin next spring, and the entire section of the expressway is to be ready by the end of November 2011. It will be the longest concrete highway in Poland.

The value of the investment is estimated at nearly EUR 1.3 billion.

Krzysztof Wierzbowski and Anna Ochocka from our law firm worked on the contract negotiations, together with advisers from PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Scott Wilson engineering firm.
