Webinar: Legal Violations on the Internet - How to prove them?

  • Poland

In today’s world, dominated by high tech, more and more legal violations occur online. They may involve defamation, or infringement of copyright or other intellectual property rights, but whatever the nature of the violation it is essential that the injured party be able to present evidence to prove its case.

We cordially invite you to participate in a webinar during which we will discuss available methods for documenting online content. We will present their strengths and weaknesses from the legal and technological perspective. Some of the issues we will address include:

    • How to prove in a clear and reliable way that specific content was actually displayed on the internet and was present online at the time the content was documented?
    • How to document online evidence in a manner that excludes manipulation?
    • Is there one effective method for documenting online content that works in all situations?

We will attempt to answer these questions by drawing on our own experience as well as analyzing selected case studies.

The webinar will be conducted by Wierzbowski Eversheds lawyers Tomasz Zalewski, Przemysław Walasek, Paweł Lipski and Elżbieta Solska, together with IT forensics specialist Paweł Odor from Kroll Ontrack.

The webinar is free of charge and will be held in Polish.

    Thursday, 20 October 2011, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
