Dr. Konrad Zacharzewski, a capital market and digital currencies law specialist joins Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland

On 1 June 2017, Dr. Konrad Zacharzewski will join Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland. He specializes in capital market, securities and banking law as well as digital currency law. He will strengthen the banking and finance team as Of Counsel. 

Dr. Konrad Zacharzewski is an attorney at law with many years of experience providing legal advice to capital market institutions. He has set up investment companies, developed a complete range of corporate procedures, and drafted the documentation for issues of investment certificates. Working for a specialized brokerage, he drafted a set of corporate procedures and internal regulations. His experience advising capital market institutions has also focused on such issues as asset management, corporate governance, anti-money laundering, know your customer, outsourcing and compliance. 
 
He is a leading advisor on the law of digital currencies and distributed register technology (blockchain). He authored two groundbreaking research publications serving as the basis for legislative work in Poland in this field. He has advised entities involved in Bitcoin trading. Currently he is participating in conceptual work coordinated by the Ministry of Digital Affairs on inclusion of cryptocurrencies in the Polish legal system, economy and public life. In the banking area his focus includes issues of damages liability of banks, and he has also worked on “toxic options” cases.

Dr. Konrad Zacharzewski combines law practice with scientific work as an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Banking Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
