On 16 November 2017 at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the world premiere of the ONSTAGE mobile application will take place. For the first time in the history of the Philharmonic, listeners will be able to use cell phones during a classical music concert, watching close-ups of what is happening on stage and behind the scenes. Legal support in preparing the application was provided by Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland.
Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland lawyers verified the concept of the application in terms of key legal issues and possible risks, among others, in the field of copyright law, services provided electronically and processing of personal data. They also advised on the concept of visual identity protection and represented the application developers in the trademark registration process. Tomasz Zalewski was responsible for the whole process - We are always happy to support innovative solutions such as this application. We have had the pleasure for many years now to advise on similar projects, supporting startups from the new technology sector within our Internet Start Up program - says Tomasz Zalewski.
ONSTAGE is a mobile app designed for concert venues around the world – one useful and flexible tool to help attract new audiences and change the perceptions of classical music. The app’s functionalities can also be used during sports events, festivals, academic conferences, conventions, congresses, and many more. At the premiere stage, the application will be available to listeners of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.
Classical music is a cultural area in which the technological potential is used minimally. ONSTAGE offers solutions that – without taking anything away from the spirit of classical music traditionally celebrated in the philharmonic - combine it with the contemporary world beyond the walls of concert halls.
The initiator of this revolutionary solution is Julian Cochran Foundation, Polish organization, whose main goal is to change the image of the world of classical music through the use of innovative technologies and to mobilize Polish business to engage in creating modern solutions for culture.
ONSTAGE application will be premiered on 16 November at a special concert at the Warsaw Philharmonic. From 10 November it will be available free of charge at App Store and Google Play stores.
The developer of the application is Altkom Software & Consulting.
