From the start of April 2019, the Commercial team is relaunched at Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland as a horizontal practice also covering the areas of intellectual property, data protection, and TMT. The consolidated team is led by partners Marta Gadomska-Gołąb and Dr Aleksandra Kunkiel-Kryńska.

As before, the Commercial team will handle issues of commercial contracts, consumer law, competition, regulatory advice, and product safety issues, but from now on will also cover intellectual property and data protection—particularly for the firm’s extensive portfolio of clients from the sectors of e-commerce and TMT (technology, media and telecommunications). The team will also provide comprehensive advice for the life sciences sector. Since Joanna Kwaśny-Krajewska joined the firm last year, the team will expand its services in the regulatory area to include environmental issues.

The decision to consolidate the team’s practice areas comes largely in response to the needs of clients, for whom the team provides comprehensive advice. They include market-leading companies from the sectors of technology, foods, FMCG, apparel, chemicals, furniture and toys, as well as producers of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The change in the law firm’s structure also reflects the arrangement of practice teams across Eversheds Sutherland globally, in line with trends on the legal services market.

The team headed by Marta Gadomska-Gołąb and Dr Aleksandra Kunkiel-Kryńska is distinguished for its many years of experience providing comprehensive legal and regulatory advice for manufacturers and sellers of products from a range of industrial sectors, including sensitive products. The team advises on commercial contracts, and supports businesses on all legal issues they encounter through the life cycle of the product, from legal classification of the product and marketing requirements through distribution, advertising, sale, consumer claims, warranty, and procedures for dangerous products. From now on the team’s comprehensive range of services will also include data protection and intellectual property.

The team plans to grow in the near future by cooperating with more specialists.
