Advised Autoliv Inc. regarding the insolvency proceedings and reorganisation of Pampus Automotive GmbH & Co. KG

  • Germany

Swedish/US company Autoliv Inc., a leading supplier and manufacturer of safety technology for the automotive industry, again relied on Heisse Kursawe Eversheds' expertise in insolvency law. Pampus Automotive GmbH & Co. KG is a central provider of precision parts such as airbag lances and pipes. The parts Pampus Automotive develops and produces form essential components of Autoliv's safety systems which are used in numerous vehicles, in particular from the premium segment. In mid-May 2010, Pampus Automotive's management filed an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings. The court opened the insolvency proceedings on 01 July 2010 and Dr. Dirk Andres of the law firm AndresScheider was appointed insolvency administrator. During the subsequent reorganisation process and insolvency plan procedure, Autoliv - together with other customers - played a key role. The insolvency proceedings were suspended at the end of January 2012 after a so-called insolvency plan had been adopted by the creditors, which has been implemented since then. Dr. Sebastian Zeeck, LL.M. (Partner, insolvency law) and Dr. Christian Hilpert, MBA (Senior Associate, insolvency law), who was largely responsible for advising on the reorganisation, provided comprehensive legal support in these proceedings. The team around Dr. Sebastian Zeeck, LL.M. recently advised several creditors with regard to various reorganisation and insolvency scenarios, inter alia GMAC, Hannover Leasing Automotive and KGAL.
