Microsoft Deutschland GmbH relocates its headquarters

    Due to the fact that the lease agreement in Unterschleißheim expires in 2016, Microsoft Deutschland decided to relocate its headquarters and to establish new, modern headquarters in Parkstadt Schwabing which are adapted to up-to-date working conditions and have a total surface of 26,000 m2. Commencement of the construction works is planned for 2014. As of summer 2016, approximately 1,800 employees will find a new working environment in the new headquarters in Munich-Schwabing. Modern working conditions and technology with numerous meeting rooms, open spaces, retreat spaces, informal lounges and cafés as wells sports facilities will be created. ARGENTA Group based in Munich develops the new headquarters for Microsoft Deutschland.

    The experienced real estate lawyers Wolfgang Hierl and Alexander Hofmann of the international law firm Heisse Kursawe Eversheds provided comprehensive advice to Microsoft Deutschland.     Wolfgang Hierl and Alexander Hofmann also comprehensively advised Microsoft in the run-up to the opening of the new Microsoft Center Unter den Linden in Berlin which was opened on 07 November 2013. In the historic building located at the junction of Unter den Linden/Charlottenstraße in Berlin-Mitte, Microsoft offers, in addition to the office space, an event area for approximately 400 guests, a meeting floor for discussions with partners and business customers and the café "Digital Eatery" on a total surface of about 3,000 m2.

    Microsoft Deutschland GmbH was founded in 1983 and is a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation/Redmond, USA, the world's leading manufacturer of standard software, services and solutions with a turnover of USD 77.85 billion (FY 2013; 30 June 2013). The operative profit in FY 2013 amounted to USD 26.76 billion. In addition to the headquarters in Unterschleißheim near Munich, Microsoft Deutschland GmbH is represented by six regional offices throughout Germany and has approximately 2,700 employees. Together with approximately 38,000 partner companies, Microsoft Deutschland GmbH offers services to companies of all industries and sizes. The research activities of Advanced Technology Labs Europe (ATLE) in Munich are focused on IT security, data protection, mobility, mobile applications and web services.
