Eversheds Sutherland advises energy provider SP Group (Singapore) on its further investment in the charging infrastructure specialist The Mobility House

  • Germany

Eversheds Sutherland has advised SP Group on the increase of its strategic investment in The Mobility House AG. The energy utilities group from Singapore has participated in the further financing of the electric mobility specialist as part of a series C2 financing round. In 2020, SP Group invested in The Mobility House to expand its business on the Asian markets and promote the advancement of electric mobility in Singapore. Back then, Eversheds Sutherland also advised SP Group on that investment.

The Mobility House was founded in 2009 and operates globally from Zurich, Munich and Belmont (California). With ChargePilot, the company has developed an intelligent charging and energy management system for integrating vehicle batteries into power grids which enables bi-directional charging, i.e. the taken energy can be pushed back into the power grid to balance the energy demand. ChargePilot has already been successfully implemented in several hundred projects in Europe and the USA and was recently also supported by the European Investment Bank as a relevant technology.

SP Group is a leading energy utilities group in the Asia Pacific. As one of the largest companies in Singapore, the group owns and operates electricity and gas transmission and distribution networks in Singapore and Australia as well as district cooling companies in Singapore and China.

The Munich-based Private Equity Partner Sven Schweneke together with Christian Lindner (Senior Associate) again advised SG Group on the further investment.
