  • Germany

Eversheds Sutherland advised the British eCommerce fulfilment provider Huboo on its entry into the German market.

The fast-growing service provider, which is opening a 10,000 square-metre logistics centre in Leipzig for the German market at the end of April will handle picking, packing and shipping to customers around the world. It also integrates the merchants' offers into sales channels such as Amazon, Ebay and Shopify.

Founded in the UK in 2017, Huboo offers a comprehensive, software-driven fulfilment service for all sizes of businesses across Europe and has begun to expand its scalable model to the world. Germany is the third country in Huboo's European expansion plans, after the company launched in the Netherlands (Eindhoven) in June last year and in Spain (Madrid) in October. A minimum of 250 jobs will be created in the new logistics centre in Leipzig.

    Partner Dr. Gerhard Molt commented:

“We are delighted to advise Huboo on this strategic European expansion. Germany is an important economy in the European Union. With its market entry in the region, Huboo will strengthen its pan-European logistics network.”

The Eversheds Sutherland real estate team included Partner Dr. Gerhard Molt (Munich), Counsel Julian-Claudius Götz and Kathrin Paulet (both Düsseldorf) and Associate Christina Klarner (Munich).

Eversheds Sutherland's real estate team regularly supports national and international logistic companies and logistics real estate project developers on all legal aspects of real estate transactions, project developments and commercial leases (built-to-suit and existing buildings).
