Eversheds Sutherland advises energy provider SP Group (Singapore) on investment in charging infrastructure specialist The Mobility House

  • Germany

Eversheds Sutherland has advised SP Group on a strategic investment in The Mobility House AG, a leading provider of charging solutions for electric vehicles. The energy utilities group from Singapore invests in the electric mobility specialist as part of a series C financing round.

The technology company The Mobility House was founded in 2009 and operates globally from Zurich, Munich and Belmont (California). With ChargePilot, the company has developed an intelligent charging and energy management system for integrating vehicle batteries into power grids which enables bi-directional charging which allows the charged power to be pushed back to the power grid to balance variation in energy requirements. ChargePilot has already been successfully implemented in several hundred projects in Europe and the USA and was recently also supported by the European Investment Bank as a relevant technology. The collaboration with SP Group now expands the reach of The Mobility House into Asian markets.

SP Group (formerly Singapore Power) is a leading energy utilities group in the Asia Pacific. As one of the largest companies in Singapore, the group owns and operates electricity and gas transmission and distribution networks in Singapore and Australia as well as district cooling companies in Singapore and China. With the investment in The Mobility House, SP Group intends to further promote the advancement of electric mobility in Singapore.

Munich private equity Partner Sven Schweneke and senior associate Dr. Christian Lindner advised SG Group on the investment in the charging infrastructure specialist.
